Cambodia Visa and Passport
Tourist visas for Cambodia can allow tourists to enter and depart Cambodia at Siem Reap and Phnom Penh international airports and other crossing borders with Vietnam, Thailand and Laos.

Visa/Passport Requirements
To enter Cambodia, a tourist or business visa is required for most nationalities except nationals of the Thailand,Singapore,Malaysia,Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and Laos.
Tourists for these countries don't need a tourist visa and may stay in Cambodia for 21 and 30 days respectively.

Some nationalities are required to get visa in advance in their countries that means on arrival visa is not permitted for holders of the following Passports:
Pakistan, Sri Langka, Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Algeria, Arab Saudi, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq.


Visa Extension
The tourist and business visas can be extended at the Immigration Department, National Police.
The tourist visa can be extended only once for up to one month with single entry and business visa can be extended for one and 3 months for single entry and 6 months and one year for multiple entry. US$5 per day will be fined for overstaying.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A valid passport for at least 6 months and visa are required for most nationalities.


 Cambodia VISA

Tourist (T) and Business visas (E) can be obtained at the international airports, and border checkpoints on arrival. Only Tourist visa can be requested online before departure. It is recommended to apply for Business visa in case of long stay. Be careful, overstays will be fined $ 5 per day.

Tourist Visa (T): (T): $ 30.00, 30 days, extendable 1 time for a total of 30 days. Form to fill-out, 1passport photo and payment only in cash.
   Business visa (E): $ 35.00, 30 days, indefinitely extendable. Form to fill-out, 1 passport photo, and payment only in cash.

$ 37 dollars, 30 days, processing time: 3 business days. 1 passport-size photo in digital format (JPEG or PNG format), a valid credit card (Visa/MasterCard). After receiving your visa through email, print it out and bring it along when you travel to Cambodia.

Cambodia Climate
Cambodia located in the tropical zone near the equator that why this country has a monsoon climate.
Cambodia is either warm or hot all year around with two distinct seasons: wet and dry season as other Southeast Asia countries.

Wet season start from June to October with rains happen in the afternoon or at night. The afternoon rain usually last no more than a few hours.

Dry season divide into two sub-seasons, hot and cool. The cool dry season start from November to February.

The rains of monsoon trail off through October and November, and it has normally stopped completely by middle of November offering the best wonderful time of the year.
The hot dry season start from March to May when it is less breezy and the sun can be quite intense and the air becomes hazier with the rising humidity.

Best time to visit Cambodia
December and January is the best time to visit Cambodia, when humidity levels are relatively low, there is  little rainfall
and a cooling breeze whips across the land, but this is also peak season when the majority of visitors descend on the country.

Siem Reap
The climate and weather in Siem Reap is usually asked by tourists to Cambodia since Angkor Wat is the most attraction place for their trip. Climate is hot and muggy all year-round, just like other parts in Cambodia. There are two seasons here, which are differentiate by the amount of the rainfalls. November to April is dry season with the most comfortable temperatures and less rains.
Wet season is from May to October with showers in the afternoon and heavy downfalls in the midnight. The rainy season is a better choice of your visit in Cambodia.

Phnom Penh
The average temperature in Phnom Penh is from 28°C to 33°C. Phnom Penh has three basic seasons, the rainy season runs from June to October with rainfall regularly. February to May is summer season and the temperature gets very high with strong sunshine. So, December to January is the best time to visit Phnom Penh with a cooler temperature and less humidity.

Tonle Sap Lake
Tonle Sap is the largest natural freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. During the rainy season runs from June to October, the Tonle Sap Lake will be filled by the water in Mekong River. But the water will flow out from Tonle Sap Lake to Mekong River during the dry season from November to May. The best time to visit there should be July to December.Although the tourists can visit it all year-round.

Banking and Currency in Cambodia

Only a few major towns and cities across Cambodia have ATMs. Travelers should therefore carry a fair amount of riel or US dollar at all times. Visitors must be aware that there are no banks near Cambodian land borders. Traveler’s checks can be cashed at all major banks in Phnom Penh,
Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and a few banks in Battambang. Visa and MasterCard are accepted in upscale restaurants, boutiques, hotels, airlines, and travel agents. Although the US dollar is readily accepted, it is worth keeping a few riel on hand. The exchange rate hovers at 4,200 riel to a US dollar.

BANKS AND BANKING HOURS
Cambodia’s leading banks are SBC Bank, Acleda Bank, Cambodia Commercial Bank, Cambodia Asia Bank, and Canadia Bank. ANZ Royal Bank is the most well-known international bank. All these banks
have an ATM presence across the major cities and withdrawing money from them is safe, quick, and more efficient than going into the bank itself.
That said, foreign travelers should be aware that they will be charged for withdrawals.
 While timings can vary from bank to bank, most remain open Monday to Saturday from 7:30 to 11:30am and from 2 to 5pm or 6pm. Bureau de change in international chain hotels are usually open
through the weekend.

CHANGING MONEY
The Thai baht is readily accepted in towns such as Poipet and Battambang. However, travelers should keep in mind that the riel is not accepted or changed in Thailand. The US dollar can be
used everywhere but getting change for higher denomination notes can prove difficult unless it is in a top hotel or restaurant. Banks may refuse to change US dollar notes with a slight rip or tear.
However, this is not the case with ragged riel notes.
Changing any non-dollar currency will result in a poor exchange rate; however, money-changers in the markets will give better rates. Markets usually operate from around 6am till sundown. Western
Union and Moneygram money transfer services are represented by a number of banks such as Cambodia Asia Bank. It is futile to think of black market operators for changing money as they no longer exist in Cambodia.

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS
Visa and MasterCard are accepted by hotels, airlines, and upscale restaurants, as is JCB and, to a lesser extent, American Express. However, shops, restaurants, and hotels in smaller towns do not accept credit cards and it is best to carry the local currency or US dollars to make payments.
Using a credit or debit card often means a 3 percent charge on the spot.

Credit card advances are available at Battambang, Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, Kampot, and Kompong Cham. All banks, apart from Canadia Bank, which offers free advances, levy a US$5 charge.

TRAVELER’S CHECKS
Traveler’s checks can be cashed in most banks, major hotels, and upscale restaurants. American Express, although not the most useful credit card to have, is the most widely accepted traveler’s check. Acleda Bank, with branches throughout the country, even in far-flung northeast provinces such as Mondulkiri and Ratanakiri, now accepts traveler’s checks.
The standard commission rate for exchanging checks is about 2 percent and checks should be in US dollars rather than other international currencies.

Bank Notes
The riel comes in denominations of 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 and 100,000.

CURRENCY
The official unit of currency in Cambodia is the riel, however, the US dollar is the de facto currency and the one travelers will find it most useful to carry. The riel cannot be exported, so it must be

spent or exchanged before leaving the country. 500 and 1,000 riel notes are the most convenient denominations to have when paying for tuk-tuk rides. There is no coinage in Cambodia, only notes.

The price of the Angkor Pass
The Cambodian government said that since February 2017, the ticket price would be 37 USD / per day to visit the temples at Angkor.
The ticket price to visit the temples in Angkor in one day will increase from $ 20 to $ 37 while the 3-day ticket increases from $ 40 to $ 62 and the ticket per week will increase from $ 60 to $ 72.

The Cambodian government said each ticket sold would contribute $ 2 to a humanitarian organization in Kantha Bopha, a Swiss children's hospital that provides free medical care.
